Oral ketamine augmentation for chronic suicidality in treatment-resistant depression.

By: De Gioannis, Angelo; De Leo, Diego. Australian & New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry. Jul2014, Vol. 48 Issue 7, p686-686. 1p.

Abstract: The article presents two case studies of patients who were treated with oral ketamine as augmentation treatment due to chronic suicidal tendencies following at least two suicide attempts. One patient is a 44-year old male with bipolar depression and chronic suicide ideation who reportedly showed sustained remission of his suicidal ideation after weeks of treatment. The other is a 37-year old female with similar condition who showed an improved mental state after monthly doses. DOI: 10.1177/0004867414520754. (AN: 96837275)
